Toronto YMCA Mismanagement

Response from Board of Directors

The Board’s response to my May 26 letter urged me to go ahead with the proposed committee meeting, ignoring my letter’s objection that the committee’s insistence on excluding Ed Dewar demonstrated in advance that we could not expect a fair hearing.

Also, significantly, the Board Chair, Robert E. Lord, personally endorses each of the committee members.

Dear Mr. Wittenberg:

Thank you for your letter dated May 26 regarding the Metro-Central YMCA.

As Chair of the Board, it is my responsibility to respond to letters sent to the Board of Directors, on their behalf.

The process Mr. Bailey has described to you is the approved process of the Board of Directors for situations of this nature. I know each of the ‘committee members’ and, in fact, two of them are members of the Board of Directors.

I encourage you to contact Mr. Bailey again to allow this approved process to proceed.

Sincerely,

Robert E. Lord
Chair of the Board
